This 1 oz minted bar is 999.9 fine gold from Metalor, the Swiss precious-metals group which expanded into producing bullion for the banking sector in 1918. The front is engraved with the Metalor name, 1 ounce, 999.9 FINE GOLD, a serial number, a DataMatrix code and the Essayeur Fondeur hallmark; the back carries a pattern of small triangular hallmarks. It is sealed in a credit-card-sized assay card. The serial number shown in the pictures (000000) is a specimen for illustration; every bar has its own. What is in the assay: the back of the card shows a certificate with the weight (1 ounce) and the fineness (gold 999.9), a Certified Assayer line with a signature and the hallmark, and a label under the bar repeats the serial number.
