Johnson Matthey 100 oz Silver Bar
100 oz Silver • Vintage Poured Bar
Drag to turn the bar
This is a vintage 100 troy ounce silver bar from Johnson Matthey, the British precious-metals company founded in London in 1817. It is .999 fine silver and poured rather than minted, so every bar has its own cast surface, scuffs and cooling ripples. The front carries a raised diamond-shaped Johnson Matthey stamp, with the fineness and weight stamped near the bottom. Dealers report that Johnson Matthey stopped making these bars around 2015, so this is vintage stock: the exact stamps, wear and surface vary from bar to bar. The pictures show a typical bar and are for illustration.
